About Ella

Hi, I’m Elmarie, but most know me as Ella. Baker by day, mom at night.  I’m self-taught baker, obsessed with beautiful and moist yummy cakes. I believe cake must be decadent, life-changing, and worthy of celebration!!!!

I first baked my own cupcakes at age 7 – from then I was hooked!!! I got my own recipe book and cupcake pans for my birthday from my granny when I turned 8.  And Yesssss I still have my cupcake pans and still bake with them.  My recipe book is passed on to my daughter, whom also loves baking.

I was working in the insolvency industry for 10 years.  I started Ellas Creamy Creations as just an extra income, after which cakes obviously became my obsession!  Baking makes me feel in control, makes me feel “in the moment” – takes me into my own world!  I am 34 years old, I married my best friend, and have been married for 13 years and counting! We have two adorable children and four furry friends!
